80 series

Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau
80 Series Linear Motor Subway Cars

The 80 series is based upon Japan's first compact linear-motor subway, the 70 series (Nagahori-Tsurumi-Ryokuchi Line), built in 1989. The body design, though based on the straight lines of the original 70 series, is slightly rounded to create a soft image. The basic body tone is light cream, with the logo color of the line, orange, inserted into the middle and top sections of the side surfaces, as well as beneath the emergency door at the front. Additional touches of darker orange provide a warm atmosphere.
