This electric train is powered by AC/DC dual motors for operation at the district of Kohoku, Hokuriku in Japan. Less distortion and a smooth surface on the stainless steel carbody are achieved by laser welding technology. Fee schedule and fare box are equipped in the passenger cabin for conductorless operation.
