New Shinkansen train, which currently holds the world record of a maximum operating speed of 300km/h, was developed to improve passenger service and to reduce travel time. It is designed to improve passenger riding quality and service maintainability, in addition to reducing atmospheric pressure upon entering a tunnel. Aluminum honeycomb structure is introduced into body side panel for reducing car body weight, and wing type pantograph is adopted for reducing noise levels.
