Contracted with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to supply 78 new light rail vehicles.

On August 7th, Kinkisharyo International, L.L.C. (“KILLC”), a US subsidiary of The Kinki Sharyo Co., Ltd. (“Kinkisharyo”), made a 299 ($US) million dollars contract with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“Metro”) to supply 78 new light rail vehicles (“LRV”) and received “Notice to Proceed (NTP)” from Metro on August 20th to commence this project.

The contract also includes four options to buy another 157 LRVs for 591 ($US) million dollars for a total contract value of 890 ($US) million dollars for 235 new rail cars. The LRV delivery will start in 2014 and the delivery of the 235 total rail cars would be complete in 2020.

In order to execute this contract, Kinkisharyo will establish a new vehicle production facility in the United States which is line with the KILLC business expansion strategy. Kinkisharyo is implementing our plan of the constructions for the production facility so that we can commence our productions in June 2014 as well as meet our delivery schedule for this project.
