   Kinki Sharyo has been manufacturing rail vehicles since its inception in 1920. Needless to say the use of the rails is our core business in the surface transportation industry, and essential for daily life. The use of railcars requires high reliability, safety and services as well as being friendly to consumers and the environment. We aquired the certificate of ISO14001, Environmental Management System on 2004.

   Our corporate philosophy is "We will create good technology with creativity in order to realize a rich and comfortable human environment with faith and eagerness." In addition, we will not overlook to pursue our genuine interest to new ideas with a vision of the future. Continuous effort to develop new technology and our desire to jump over high hurdles have made it possible for us to expand our business worldwide.

   Recognition of "ISO9001" as well as "Brunel" and "Good Design Products" Awards serve to confirm our efforts to accomplish these goals. Our experience and technology on rail transit vehicles also expanded other products such as front doors for condominiums, and newspaper vending machines.

   Industrial designers and design engineers are always trying to give shape to dreams in order to further develop our products. Our goal never ends - a more comfortable product, environmentally friendlier, Safer, and a more cost effective product. We constantly try to achieve our dreams to make a better product.

   During the course of production, we put the utmost care to manufacture the best quality products based on sophisticated production technology. Our rail products include the Shinkansen Super Limited Express Electric Train. Limited Express EMU, Suburban and Commuter Type Electric Train, Subway Electric Train, and Light Rail Vehicles, which we believe will be the main cast for future urban transportation. Our other products such as front doors, newspaper vending machines and bicycle parking posts enhance and add security to life. We will continue to contribute to affluent societies through our various products.

   Kinki Sharyo manufactures the rail cars not only for domestic customers. We have exported more than 1,000 cars to Egypt since 1962 to support the country's public transportation system. In Asia we exported rail cars to Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore; most recent being the 252 commuter rail type EMUs to Hong Kong Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC).

   In the US, our light rail vehicles (LRV) run in 4 cities since 1985. The 70% low floor LRV we developed for the US market began revenue service in 2000 for New Jersey Transit followed by another 100 70% low floor LRVs delivered to Santa Clara VTA. Furthermore, our 70% low floor LRV will soon start serving the public in the cities of Seattle and Phoenix. Our low floor LRV vehicles are setting the US standard for its user friendly and energy efficient qualities.

   There are various demands in different countries and cultures. We analyze the customer requirements in detail. Only then do we develop our high quality products using superior technology in order to satisfy the customer in a way that is most suitable to each location.

   In addition, we have been cooperating to assist local assembly and maintenance activities to contribute in forming a society through our rail products worldwide.
